our millennial story

We’re Genista Ln, a Nanyang kopi cart business in Singapore. We bring kopi to weddings, corporate events and community gatherings. Here’s how our journey began.

  • Kopi cart with the sign 'Genista Ln', two workers preparing sandwiches, cups, and canned drinks on the cart
  • People preparing food at a street food stall with a sign that reads 'Genista Ln' in an indoor setting
  • Barista pouring ice into a plastic cup of iced coffee or tea at a cafe, with other customers in the background
  • A smiling woman holding a paper cup standing next to a man in a green apron making a peace sign in a bright indoor setting
Chapter 01

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

It all began at a Yishun void deck, celebrating Grandma’s 96th birthday. We brought our little kopi cart along and gave it its first try with family, relatives and friends. A childhood friend, an aspiring baker and fellow entrepreneur, joined us too. Our first cups, shared with the people closest to us.

  • Multiple cups of iced coffee with dark labels on a wooden surface
  • Crowd of people at a Kopi Cart with a sign reading 'Genista Ln' in an indoor setting
  • Two men smiling and giving thumbs-up while standing inside a coffee shop. One wears a green apron and black headband, the other a beige polo shirt. Behind them are coffee-making equipment and a potted plant
  • A colorful menu sign hanging from a hook at a cafe with options to customize coffee drinks
Chapter 02

1ST CORPORATE EVENT

Our first corporate event brought us to an office opening for a lovely team of financial advisors. There were lion dance blessings, a new beginning to celebrate, and plenty of kopi to share. We were glad our little cart could be part of their big day.

  • Two men smiling and holding cups of coffee at a busy outdoor gathering under a tent
  • Genista Ln crew smiling beside their kopi cart at an outdoor community event
  • Three women working at a food stall with signs labeled 'Collection Point' and 'Order Point', serving customers at an event, with people in the background
  • A woman with long dark hair tied back with a hair clip, wearing a black sleeveless top, is sitting on a red plastic chair in a crowded outdoor setting. She holds a cup of iced beverage with a straw, and several people are sitting on similar chairs behind her
Chapter 03

1ST COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Next, we brought our kopi cart to meet the Bedok North residents. What a joy to serve the neighbourhood! We also made Minister Heng a Horkasai O kosong, bringing together two of his favourites, Milo and kopi. A little local flavour, shared with the community.

  • Wedding guests wait for drinks as a barista prepares kopi at the cart in a bright church hall
  • People serving iced coffee drinks in plastic cups with labeled stickers that say "Genista Ln", on a wooden tray at a coffee stand
  • Three smiling employees wearing green aprons standing behind a cafe counter, showing thumbs up
  • Mark and Rachel smiling with two Genista Ln crew members beside the kopi cart at their church wedding
Chapter 04

1ST CHURCH WEDDING

Mark and Rachel welcomed us into their wedding celebration, our very first church wedding. It was a hot day, and an iced yuan yang hit just the spot. We loved being there to share a refreshing cup with the people celebrating their coming together.

  • A Tesla collecting kopi at the Genista Ln drive-thru
  • Orange Car at Kopi Drive Thru
  • Group of four young adults standing outside a restaurant entrance, celebrating with flowers and a gift, smiling and waving at the camera
  • A young woman smiling, wearing sunglasses with 'GL 25' on the lenses, holding a cup of iced coffee in front of a dark background with a sign that reads 'Gourmet Inn' at night
Chapter 05

STORE OPENING

Then came a place of our own, with our drive-through ready to welcome you. We put our own twist on a familiar breakfast: sourdough kaya toast and soft-boiled eggs. Our Fine Robusta series joined the menu too, including our Spanish Latte. A new chapter, with more flavours to share.

  • People standing in line at a coffee stand under a void deck, with barista preparing drinks and coffee equipment on the counter
  • Two elderly women, one sitting on a chair and the other in a wheelchair, are talking to each other and smiling. Several people are standing and walking in the background in a brightly lit indoor setting under a void deck
  • Group of people gathered around a table with a birthday cake, celebrating a birthday with elderly women, children, and adults in a bright, open space
  • A small coffee stand set up in an open, airy space with two staff members preparing beverages. The stand has a wooden base, a black canopy, and menus hanging on the side
Chapter 06

COMING BACK ONCE AGAIN

For our first anniversary, we came back to where it all began. Grandma was turning 97, and we celebrated by giving back: free kopi for passers-by, with twice as many cups as the year before. Another birthday together, and a chance to share a little more joy with the neighbourhood.

  • Guests queue around the Genista Ln kopi cart in a busy wedding reception hall
  • Wedding guests chat and wait for drinks beside the Genista Ln kopi cart
  • Guests choose their drinks as a Genista Ln barista serves kopi at a ballroom event
  • Families order drinks beside the Genista Ln cart at a Weekend Brew Club gathering
Today

STILL BREWING, STILL GROWING

What began with family around our little cart now brings us to weddings, workplaces and community celebrations across Singapore. Today, people invite Genista Ln to be part of their gatherings with our distinctive Nanyang kopi cart—and we’re grateful every time.

Seeing guests gather, choose their favourite kopi and linger for a chat reminds us why we started. Different places, new faces, and the same joy of sharing a good cup. Thank you for being part of our story.
